Stunning! Brilliant! Really long!

Thanks for this, fellows. All I can say is, where is King Kong Bundy now that we really need him?

Thanks, C.L.! It is really long, but villains of this caliber deserve extra special attention.

KKB -- there's a name I remember from childhood! Didn't realize this but sadly he died in 2019.

Thank you! Long is a minor addiction of mine, glad it worked for you.

My entire life is PTO popcorn fundraisers and New Girl reruns, so please take this with a massive grain of salt. I read the entire thing because of loyalty and cheerleading and because you're hitting on massively important shit. But this was so very long. It truly started to sing for me when you hit the football section. I feel like part three could have stood alone and been a real blockbuster. Terrible, unintended pun there. You guys do a great job of presenting your individual voices when you work together. I had a favorite "voice" throughout, and it doesn't matter which one it is because that's going to be different for everyone who reads these collaborations. Which is part of the reason they're awesome. Nice move adding the subscribe buttons for each writer along the way. I'm sure you'll all get some bites. I'm already triple subscribed, so my substack inbox looked like a creepy fan club agenda this morning.

Keep collaborating, please. But for the love of Christ, make the next one shorter. ❤️‍🔥

And if you want to outsource visuals and save yourself some energy next time... I'm just a craftily-subject-lined email away.

It's true it's too long. I worried about that, especially in the world of shortest possible attention spans.

Here's my only counterargument, and why I believe none of us suggested we shorten it: this piece will truly stand alone amongst all the available content on the internet. I can't think of any place else where you'll find an epic of this scale, with this much variety.

My hope is -- while many people will skip or skim it -- those who read it in its entirety will appreciate the totality of the piece.

That may very well not happen. But I hope it does. And for those people who choose to revisit it I think there will be a lot to love while re-reading.

All that said, your point is valid and well taken. Something for us to consider next go round. Thanks for reading!

You're right about it requiring a longer attention span, or just the ability to pay attention at all, which not everyone has. Including me some days. It infuriates me when I find myself skimming anything. I don't know what the fucking hurry is. I'll admit to not always being the ideal audience for your work. I'm sheltered. (GASP). I can get easily lost in culture references. Apart from Hulk Hogan - you lost me on the wrestling stuff. And this is going to sound really dumb, but it makes me feel a little dumb when I don't understand something written by a peer. That's a Meg issue. Not an Amran issue. I click in where I can. And I show up because it matters. To me anyway. Maybe it doesn't matter to you! (Double GASP). I never really considered that. But fuck it. I'm on a train and my brain stopped functioning four hours ago. Merry Superbowl. And Happy Cocaine Bear.

I'd say you all enjoyed this. It took a minute for me to figure out I'd just boarded either a plane, a train or an automobile with a destination known only by it's driver. But I was aboard, and the in-flight entertainment was 'ON'. I was a little off guard at first but once settled in I laughed along (when I knew what the hell you were talking about). There is some 'serious' funny shit in there boys. I'll be looking forward to the next excursion.
